What you need before you start

Marks from both years. From grade 11: Arabic out of 100, English out of 100, Islamic Education out of 60, and Jordan History out of 40. From grade 12: four subjects, each out of 175.

If you do not take Islamic Education, tick the box in the statement above and year one is recalculated without it.

What the number means

The average is out of 100. Grade 11 contributes 30 points of it and grade 12 contributes 70, and 50 is the pass mark. The arithmetic itself is set out on the how the average is calculated page.

It is an anticipated figure rather than an official one. Only the official body issues actual results, and the التكميلي resit sits outside this calculation.

The field you choose

Choosing a field does not change the arithmetic at all. It fixes which four subjects you sit in year two. Qualifying for a field is passing year one and nothing else — no field carries a minimum mark.

There is more on the six fields and their subjects, and quicker answers in the frequently asked questions.
