Frequently asked questions about the Tawjihi average
Short answers to the questions that come up most. Every figure here comes from the calculation rules themselves, and where something is not known, we say so.
How is the Tawjihi average calculated under the two-year system?
It combines both years: grade 11 is worth 30 points and grade 12 is worth 70, for a total out of 100. Year one totals 300 marks divided by 10, and year two totals 700 marks divided by 10 as well.
What is the pass mark for Tawjihi?
The final average passes at 50 out of 100 or above. Year one has a separate test: every subject must reach 40% of its own maximum, and there is no aggregate minimum.
Does grade 11 count towards the final average?
Yes, for 30 of the 100 points. That is the biggest difference from the old system: your year-one marks stay with you and cannot be made up in year two.
What if I do not take Islamic Education?
It drops out of both the total and the pass test, and the year-one divisor becomes 8 instead of 10, so the score still tops out at 30. A total of 240 marks gives 30.00.
How many subjects are there in year two, and what is each worth?
Four subjects fixed by your field, each out of 175 marks, for a total of 700.
Does the field I choose change how my average is calculated?
No. The arithmetic is the same in every field. The field decides which four subjects you sit in year two; it changes neither the formula nor the marks available.
How do I qualify for the field I want?
By passing year one, and nothing else. No source we hold sets a minimum mark for any individual field. University admission requirements are a separate matter and come from the universities themselves.
Who is the six-field list for?
This calculator presents the six-field list for grade 12 from academic year 2025/2026 onward, under the instructions recorded in the site rules. We do not generalise it to a cohort whose rule is not established by the source.
Does the calculator include the التكميلي resit?
No. The resit is not modelled here, because its rules — which marks it can replace, and how a resit mark re-enters the average — are not in the sources this calculator was built from. We will not guess them.
Why does my average show as 29.12 and not 29.13?
Because the average is truncated to two decimals and never rounded up, so the figure shown is never higher than the one you earned. The pass test is applied to the exact value, before truncation.
Is this an official site?
No. This is an independent site and the result it gives is anticipated. Only the official body issues actual results.
