About TawjeehiCalc
TawjeehiCalc is an independent calculator for the Jordanian General Secondary Certificate — the Tawjihi — and a plain-language reference for the system behind it. It is built and published by Ali Al-Hamami. It is not affiliated with the Ministry of Education or with any other official body.
Why it exists
The calculators already out there ask for four marks in boxes labelled Subject 1 through Subject 4, then hand back a number without saying where it came from. A student looking up their average wants two things rather than one: the figure, and the working behind it. This site sets out to give both — a calculator that names the actual subjects you sit in your field instead of numbering them, and pages that set out the formula, the pass condition, and what each field is made of.
Where the numbers come from
Every maximum mark, every weighting and every pass condition on this site is taken from the published secondary-certificate instructions and recorded against the cohort it applies to. No figure enters a calculation unless it traces to a published source.
Where no source settles a question — how the resit is counted, for one — the site says so instead of guessing, and leaves the question out of the arithmetic. When the instructions change, what is here changes with them: the subjects shown today belong to the cohort the field pages name on their own face, not to a previous cohort quietly carried forward.
What this site does not do
- It does not issue an official result. The average shown here is anticipated; only the awarding body issues the certified one.
- It does not cover university admission or the minimum averages that particular degrees ask for. Those come from the universities and the admission authority.
- It does not model the resit examination.
- It sells nothing, asks for no sign-up, and keeps none of your marks.
How it is built
Static pages, built ahead of time, with no server receiving data, no accounts and no forms. The marks you type into the calculator are worked out inside your own browser and never leave it; the full detail is in the privacy policy.
