The Business field

These fields apply to: Grade 12 from academic year 2025/2026 onward. The list follows the instructions recorded in the site rules.

The Business field has three fixed subjects and one further examinable subject you choose from the available list.

What this field is like

The Business field has three fixed subjects — Business Mathematics, Financial Literacy and advanced English — and no group to choose from, leaving one further examinable subject. In shape it is the twin of the Health field; in content, its opposite.

Business Mathematics is not the mathematics taught in the science fields: it is calculation pointed at cost, profit and interest. Financial Literacy is closer to understanding how money, accounts and budgets actually behave than to abstract arithmetic. Students who come here to escape mathematics find mathematics waiting for them — but mathematics with a visible purpose attached.

Further examinable subject

Your fourth subject is chosen from the examinable subjects, and that list is the same whichever field you are in. It is set out in full, split into sciences and humanities, on the fields page. See the full list of examinable subjects

Do not repeat a subject: every choice must differ from the fixed subjects and the other choices.

Choosing within this field

The Business field gives you no group to choose from, so your only decision is the further examinable subject. The shape of your year is more or less settled from the start.

Because your fixed subjects already combine applied calculation with language, the subject you choose is the single place where your year can differ from that of anyone else in the same field. Choose it for what you actually want to get good at rather than for looking like the easy option, because what looks easy early stops looking easy once the timetable fills up.

The faculties and programmes you can apply to

This list applies to: University admission for the academic year 2026/2027.

  • Faculty of Business
  • Faculty of Tourism, Hotels and Hospitality
  • Tourism Management
  • Aviation Management
  • Islamic Banking programmes

Open to every student on the academic track, whatever your field: Programmes in the faculties of Arts, Design, Culinary Arts and Sports Education, except Sports Rehabilitation at the Hashemite University.

These are faculties and programmes rather than a list of individual majors, and they come from an admission policy that is reissued every year, so they can change. This page states no admission averages and no minimum marks; those come from the universities and the admission authority. The authoritative text is the policy itself: Jordanian universities admission policy (PDF)

Qualifying for this field

Qualifying for any field is passing year one and nothing else: every grade 11 subject must reach 40% of its maximum. No field has a minimum mark of its own.

How your average is calculated in this field

Year two has four subjects, each out of 175: 700 marks become 70 points of your average, added to 30 points from year one. The field fixes the subjects, not the arithmetic.

The other fields

Each field has its own subjects and faculties. These are the rest of the six:

This page describes the subjects in this field and the faculties it lets you apply to. It does not cover competitive admission averages, which come from the universities and the admission authority. The calculator is unofficial and anticipated, and does not model the التكميلي resit.
