The Science & Technology field
These fields apply to: Grade 12 from academic year 2025/2026 onward. The list follows the instructions recorded in the site rules.
Science & Technology fixes Mathematics, then lets you choose two science subjects and one further examinable subject.
What this field is like
This is the widest of the science fields. Mathematics alone is fixed; you then choose two subjects from the science group and one further examinable subject, which means you build most of your own year.
That freedom cuts both ways. You can shape it to resemble Engineering by taking Physics, or Health by taking Chemistry and Biology, or spread your choices across two different kinds of work. The whole decision lands inside a single year, so it is worth making by looking at what the subjects actually demand rather than at what they are called.
Grade-12 subjects
Fixed subjects
| Subject | Max |
|---|---|
| Mathematics | 175 |
Optional science subjects — Choose two subjects
| Subject | Max |
|---|---|
| Biology | 175 |
| Chemistry | 175 |
| Physics | 175 |
| Earth & Environmental Science | 175 |
Further examinable subject
Your fourth subject is chosen from the examinable subjects, and that list is the same whichever field you are in. It is set out in full, split into sciences and humanities, on the fields page. See the full list of examinable subjects
Do not repeat a subject: every choice must differ from the fixed subjects and the other choices.
Choosing within this field
This field asks more of you than the others: two subjects from the science group, then one further examinable subject. You design your year rather than receive it.
The practical question is not which subject is easiest but which combination you can carry together. Two subjects that both run on calculation double the same habit and double its cost; two of different character spread the load but ask you to move between two ways of thinking. It is worth looking at your choices as a set rather than one at a time, because they will arrive as a set.

These are faculties and programmes rather than a list of individual majors, and they come from an admission policy that is reissued every year, so they can change. This page states no admission averages and no minimum marks; those come from the universities and the admission authority. The authoritative text is the policy itself: Jordanian universities admission policy (PDF)
Qualifying for this field
Qualifying for any field is passing year one and nothing else: every grade 11 subject must reach 40% of its maximum. No field has a minimum mark of its own.
How your average is calculated in this field
Year two has four subjects, each out of 175: 700 marks become 70 points of your average, added to 30 points from year one. The field fixes the subjects, not the arithmetic.

The other fields
Each field has its own subjects and faculties. These are the rest of the six:
This page describes the subjects in this field and the faculties it lets you apply to. It does not cover competitive admission averages, which come from the universities and the admission authority. The calculator is unofficial and anticipated, and does not model the التكميلي resit.
